Sun Dance Ranch has a small and cosy campsite so camping lovers can enjoy the ranch feeling as well. It is not the intention that Sun Dance Ranch will start a big campsite. (we don’t have the priorities there and there are already a lot of bigger campsites in the neighbourhood). But we do want to offer the camping lovers also the ranch experience and the ranch feeling but then from the campsite with own camper, caravan or tent with the horses in ‘ your backyard’.

The campsite is open all year around.

The service building

In the building included the saloon there is a toilet room with 2 showers, 2 toilets, a double sink and the possibility to use the washing machine and dryer. However, there is no possibility for unloading a chemical toilet! We advice to empty your chemical toilet somewhere else in advance so it’s empty when you arrive to the ranch. It is an option to use an environment friendly cleaner/washer. Another possibility is to use dish soap with vinegar in your septic tank. There is a self cleaning septic tank at the ranch and the working function would be disrupted by the use of chemicals. The remains are of course also not good to have in the ground water, because that’s also drinking water!

Extra facilities at the campsite

The campsite has its own fire places, picnic tables, garden tables and chairs that may be used and also a large lawn to play on. There are beautiful picnic spots by the waterside like a BBQ, an anti-mosquito tent, raft on the water and a tipi tent. In addition; the camping guests can also use the saloon and also play a game, read a book in the couch area, order a drink, snacks or dinner (choice of daily menu or regular menu). In the saloon and on the porch, it is not intended to bring your own drinks and food. That you can take at the various picnic areas on the campsite or on the water.

At the camp site you can play table tennis, there is a large trampoline and in the summer months, a large swimming pool (5 m diameter, 140 cm deep). Guests can also take part in the weekly BBQ or the many cosy campfire nights. There are plenty of activities to book such as: air rifle shooting, lasso throwing, wildlife safari, and canoe trips and of course all kinds of horse activities.

Spot on the ranch

The up to 15 spacious camping places are located behind the cottages and by the waterside overlooking the large meadows, forests and the river (with a beautiful sunset almost every evening). It is wonderful to wake up with a herd of horses munching in the ‘ ‘ backyard ‘ ‘ of your caravan. It is very quiet here so we see regularly deer, foxes, cranes and even mooses walking through the garden.

But of course it is a ranch where also occasionally a tractor is started to get hay for the horses, etc. The kids also find it great to help at the ranch and to take care of the horses and all the other animals. It is possible as long as everyone’s behaving nicely and listens to the instructions from the staff.

Tipi tent

At the ranch there is a large (6 meter) original Indian tipi tent. The tent can serve as a cozy space and you can also eat in the tipi. You can make a meal on the open fire: the so-called outdoor cooking. At bad weather it is a very nice place to relax with a warm fire. We always have some (waste) wood that can be used for a fire.

Service house (cooking cottage)

This cottage is available for all guests and can be used to cook a meal or just sit down and get warm and dry. It has a sink, 2 hot plates, fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee maker and water boiler. It is also equipped with crockery, cutlery, pans and various cooking utensils. Of course, you clean up yourself after use!

Please note: There is no possibility for emptying a CHEMICAL toilet.
This is possible if you use environment friendly liquid!

Dogs are welcome but please don’t let them loose before you have checkt in.
We would like to tell about our dog Chili (brown Aussie) who can’t go along with other dogs so we close him in before you let your dog loose.
