Basic program The adventurous rider vacation
The guided trails/outdoor rides are great and very diverse forest of needle-leaved trees to deciduous trees forest, open fields, rocks, many rivers and lakes and of course beautiful climbing trough the mountains with breathtaking views and real unspoiled nature. We’ll guide you through the most beautiful pieces of nature around the ranch. Each hour is different! And if you are lucky you can see cranes, deer, moose or maybe a wolf or bear!
The biggest part of the day trails we walk, sometimes we do an easy jog (slow trot) and of course also gallop is nice if the area allows us to. We ride about 2 hours to the picnic area and the way home takes also about 2 hours. So in total you will ride for around 4 hours during a day trail. That is, it appears from experience, more than enough for rider and horse because of the rough ground surface in the forest.
Everyone gets their own horse but if you want, it is possible to ride different horses during the week. There are up to 10-12 people on one day trail, but often it’s less.
Day 1 Arrival
Sunday after 4 pm; arrival at the ranch. We’ll have an outdoor meal together around the campfire. We get to know each other and everybody get a tour around the ranch.
Day 2 Meet the herd and western riding
Monday after breakfast you will meet the herd and everyone gets some explanation about body language and natural treatment of horses. You’re going to do the Extreme Trail Park by hand and explore all the obstacles. After lunch you will get a lot of information about saddling and a western riding lesson. Then you may do the obstacles in the Extreme Trail Park on the horseback. The instructor helps when necessary. A nice start to get used to your horse and (for many) a new riding style; western riding.
Day 3 Day trail
Tuesday; today we have a super beautiful and adventurous guided day trail on the program with many narrow climbing paths and a breathtaking path along a rocky river and old ruin during. Halfway on our trail we stop at a beautiful picnic spot and take a break to eat our picnic that we have brought in saddlebags. Of course, we make a small fire to toast the bread and to get warm if it’s a cold day. The guide leads you through beautiful tracks back to the ranch.
Day 4 Cutting lesson and mountain trail
Wednesday you’ll get a cutting lesson in the morning. This is a technical western riding lesson. At the end you can ‘ play ‘ with the cutting machine (a fake cow attached with strings to the machine which we control with a remote control) so that you really can experience the cowboy feeling.
After lunch at the ranch we saddle up our horses and go in to the mountains for a beautiful guided mountain trail.
Day 5 Evening trail
Thursday you can sleep a little longer if you want and you have a day off. So you can spend the day as you want. After dinner there is a guided evening trail so you can enjoy the sunset on different beautiful view points over the river. And hopefully we will see some wildlife. They are more active in the evening, so there is a good change!
Day 6 Day trail
Friday is the last day trail. Today we’ll go very deep into the forest. Together with the guide you will go into the forest, cross many little rivers and climb the mountains. You’ll see a very different kind of nature with many beautiful views. We know a very nice spot for the picnic by a big lake. The way back to the ranch is challenging with a hard climb and very steep descents. In the evening you can enjoy a delicious BBQ, good music, a campfire and maybe some dancing. In July and August even live music!
Day 7 Goodbye
Saturday after breakfast it’s unfortunately already time to go home (before 11 am). We wish you a good journey back!
