Cherokee is a black and white piebald gelding from 2005 of approximately 1.55. He is a cross between Arab and warm blood.
Cherokee is with us at the ranch from October 2010 and is very good western trained. He always needs some time with new things and if you want to take him from the field, you have to be very calm. If you go into the field like a spear straight towards him, he’s gone. But if you approach him quietly and handle him correctly then he is actually quite cool and honest! He is often a mirror of your state of mind.
Guests come back specifically for this horse! He has a wonderful gallop and he can do such a nice slowly gallop that you almost feel glued in to your saddle. He prefers to ride in the back during the trails and takes his own speed without rushing or being lazy. We are always a bit selective with who can ride Cherokee, because we like to keep him so special.
He really is one of our finest horses. Of course he also rides with a side pull bitless.
